Ramen Jiro Sapporo is Hokkaido's only directly-affiliated branch of the legendary Ramen Jiro chain, opened on March 31, 2013. The owner trained at the Mita honten and Sakuradai Ekimae branch. Despite being a solitary outpost far from Tokyo, the Sapporo branch has become one of the top three most popular restaurants in Hokkaido on the Ramen Database. The massive portions, thick chewy noodles, rich pork-fat-laden soup, and mountains of bean sprouts and garlic follow the classic Jiro formula.
